How can we, as citizens of Earth, work together and make the world a better place?

Understanding similarities and differences of many cultures can help us better answer this question.

* How is philosophy influenced by examining the similarities and differences of different world cultures?
  • What does this examination say about how we communicate to people through our differences?
  • In a presentation you give with a partner, examine one culture of the world. Explain what makes the culture what it is through examples of religion, politics, art, music, etc. and then attempt to explain how knowing this culture may be a way to making the world a better place.

Presentations begin on March 26th.

To get started, consider some of the ideas we are formulating for the presentation:

  1. The presentation you give should include a majority of the cultures in order to make educational inferences and our own opinions about the communication between countries and cultures
  2. How do differences in culture affect how we work together?
  3. What impact do our philosophies bring upon the world?
  4. How can different cultures help people work together in today's world?
  5. How can we improve our world and cultures to create equality throughout?
  6. How can understanding each others cultures help us work more efficiently with one another?
  7. How do different cultures work together and compliment each other in today's fast moving world?
  8. How can information from the past, present, and future show how the world has changed and been able to work together? (the development can also be used to show what hasn't worked in the past)
  9. How the elements of cultures can help us to improve our ability to work together in today's world.
  10. Give our own ideas on how to further develop those elements.
  11. How can people use information from other cultures globally to better the world as a whole?
  12. Is world peace a realistic goal? How can an understanding of other cultures work towards this?
  13. Evaluate some cultural conflicts that exist today. Include previous attempts, wether successful or not, to work out these conflicts. Give your own ideas on how cultural cooperation and understandign could be achieved.
  14. Compare and contrast the cultures discussed in the cultural examination project and use the information collected to offer methods to encourage global cooperation.
